Alright. Dillenbeck came to visit and that was wonderful. I bet it wasn't as exciting as she hoped, but it was nice to reconnect and see each other. I spent most of hte week running around like a chicken with its head cut off. We did get a chance to see Dark Knight at the midnight showing, which was fun, and very college esk of us. It was a blast and the movie was wonderful. (we also saw Hellboy II, it was fun, but not as good as Dark Knight.) Lets see hight lights 1. Hellboy 2. Dark Knight 3. Melissa being here 4. Belly Dancing on Saturyday (way fun, and something I never would have done on my own) 5. House warming party on Friday (loads of fun, and it was great to see so many friends) 6. Taking brad to the instant care because his leg injury from Softball seemd to have gotten worse, only to find out that he shouldn't have been walking on it and is stuck on crutches or in a wheelchair for 2-3 weeks, which covers a all of our vacation. It also requires physical theoropy a...

I was running late, then I got a parking ticket. Brad and I got asked not to show as much PDA at the pool. We don't know what we did to get asked that, he was jsut carrying me in the water. Brad would now like a list of what we are and are not allowed to do. Then we went to Movie tavern to see Get Smart. Way much, mucho fun. week 3

This is the week i missed. Monday- My due date is today. I woke up feeling a little down and it is a rainy day so that doesn't help. Brittany picked me up and we went to walk at the Park. They walked more than me. I took a break in the middle and then finsihed my two miles. Beth the chaplin called me to check up and see how I was doing. Which was really nice. Tuesday- Went to lexington with James. Brad and I sold some books at Half-price, bought me some real people clothes from Layne brayant. and then some sneakers that don't have holes in them from Off Broadway. Then we took james to Dr. Mann, the allergy dr for brad appointment. We are little upset with Dr. mann. He never talks to us. He sits there, looks at us with a look of dissapointment like he thinks things shoudl be differnt and everything we say confuses him. then gives us a perscription and we leave. No explanation, no good advice. We are thinking about trying a differnt sepcailist, cause he is not very persa...

Monday- Went to the pool, got our oil change in Lexington. packed. Tuesday- I was misrable. I started my first period since Hope and it was pretty rough. I spent most of the day in bed or at the comptuer and Brad once again took care of me. Wednesday- I had a wic appointment at 8:00 in the morning. It went okay. they asked me if I was seeing a counseler and I said no but that so far I had managed to not sink into a deep dark depression. Then at 9:30 Melissa came over to finish her character for the game. Dave showed up and we waited. When we realized that nate wasn't just late brad went to get him. He was asleep and apparently Brad had forgotten to tell him we were playing. So Melissa went home to spend time with her hubby. Nate did show up really late and we managed to set our characters up for hte next round of play. All in all a fun day. Then I went back to bed as I was still suffering from the day before Thrusday- had my 6 week check up. Dr. Says physically I am fine. they all ...

Monday- Brad's last day with students. I watched a good bit of Gilmore girls, andwent to wal-mart. It finnally happened. Someone came up to me and said.."Oh you had your baby, how is she" and I had to explain what had happened. Then I cried through the rest of my trip through teh store. then brad came home. David invited us over for a game and we got ot bed late. Tuesday- Brad's workday (he cleaned a closet, inhaled dust, and felt proud of his work.) I stopped by my school for an hour or so to remind them I work there and clean up some of my stuff. It was hard, emotionally. People kept hugging me and being sweet, but that is draining when it is that many people for that long. BUt it was a good trip too. Wednesday- Starwars, and Writing group. Saw Tiffy again for the frist time in weeks. We are all just to busy. Thursday- Brad and I babysat for Hayden. and I didn't cry. Are you proud of me? I was proud of me. Memorial Day (Evan's Birthday) (all the pictures in this blog are from Memorial day.) Because Memorial Day just happen to be evan's birthday this year we had a family cookout/birthday party. calls we made to family, we all talked to Nanny, and Mom and Dad. There was a an Ellice Special Blackforest Cake. Joel Special Hamburgers and Chicken. Mom's famous bakebeans were there. It was actually alot of fun. We cooked, watched some TV. And then Had a MArio Cart trounement. I discovered I could woop up on Evan and Brad, but Joel was harder to beat. Sonya says I need to come over and Practice so that I get better and can beat Joel with out trying. It has been about 3 years since I played, if not longer. Sonya and I have been bonding over Gilmore Girls. I have never seen them and have been borrowing them from her these last few weeks. They are witty, all though I still keep waiting for a nice Alien, or a car chase, or wait those are my other shows. Tuesday- Was a day at home alone. ...

Better week

Monday- Went to Bibi Pottery with MAry, in Waco. It was fun to get out. Not a pottery and going to fill my space with more stuff kind of person, so I only got a little pin that says KY on it to wear for UK games. Then we went to My Time, I had never been. It is alot like it use to be only smaller and less, yea it jsut seemed less to me. After that I went home. Melissa came over and we created a character for her for Starwars. (yes i have pulled a girlfriend in) Rested and played some CIV. Brad came home. Erin Dropped off dinner for later in teh week, and Shelly and her friends brought by dinner for that night. Brad was going to go ot softball practice, but he wasn't feeling well so he stayed home. Tuesday- Election day (No school) We got together to play star wars. Melissa was very impressive. While when to rolll dice, and the specific rules will come with time she more than figured out the roll play part, and the general gist of the game. She is a quick learner, and the guys admit...

Monday- Monday morning we buried our Daughter Hope in Lexington Cemetary. We invited imediate family, Brad's Parents, My mom, Joel. We also invited 2 couples who are very close friends we want to thank the couple and our family that showed up for being so supportive. We know it didn't feel like you did much, but being there for us meant alot. It gave us the strength to make it though a tough day. Pastor Bill's memorial was beautiful. I have to admit I was crying so hard I don't think I remmember most of it. Brad says he remembers every word, but you all know how important words are to brad. After the service, Brad took me to lunch so that we could be alone with our grief for a little while. Then we went to his parents for a little while. then we went home and slept. Watched a few scrubs. The funny is helping. Tuesday- brad went to work. My mom came over for a little while. then SOnya, MOm, Hayden and I went to Red Lobster for lunch. I did better with Hayden. Mother's day

Image
Happy Mother's Day to all of the mother's and grandmother's who read this. My mom, we don't look a thing alike. This is my mommy pregnant with James. See we match. Mom with Joel and I, I think she has james in this picture too.. but of course he hadn't made a public appearence yet. Mother's day started out a little grim. I didn't try to go to church this morning as it is usually the baby dedication and I didn't think I was quite ready for that at this point. My mother went with Evan and his girl friend Nancy. Brad and I stayed in bed til late, we watched some scrubs, because it makes me laugh. Brad brought me breakfast in bed. He had meatloaf, cause we have leftovers and brad doesn't want to see them go to waste, I had cereal. then we got up late, check e-mail, took a shower and got ready for the day. We ran to Wal-mart and got cards and flowers for our mothers. I also bought a small plant with pretty white flowers for Hope...

Good Days, and Bad days

Okay, I haven't really had a lot of good days but I have had a few blah days that weren't bad. Does that count? The arrangements are set, we are having a family only graveside service on Monday at 10:30. (so I can tell you now monday will be a bad day.) but hopefully once things are taken care of it will be a little easier to start moving towards good days. Yesterday was a not bad day. I was in a pretty good mood all day. I even managed to get out of the house for a little while and meet evan's girl friend Nancy. (couldn't really get a read on her because she was trying to act all quite and demure around my mother and teh rest of my family. It was good to see Hayden yesterday and hard at the same time. I am really happy and proud of him, and I admitt a little jelous as well. I really appreciate all the people who have come out to help us. I really have needed the encouragement. I will admitt I still cry myself to sleep but I have been able to laugh during the ...

A big hole

Image
I am home from the hostpital, and each day I feel a little better physically. I can get up and down on my own, and am allowed to get up and walk around some. Physically I am healing a little more each day. However, there is this hole. Yesterday, we went to the Lexington cemetary and picked out a beautiful spot under a tree for little Hope. Then we ordered a marker to place there and remind us and others of her short life. Yesterday sucked. I cried alot. I can remember just over a week ago being all excited about bring my little girl home from the hostpital, and instread I am having to decide where to bury her. We still don't know when we will have the funeral, we have to wait for the hosptail to finish their test. Brad took me there, and was wonderful. He has decided that pink isn't as bad as he once thought. I talked brad into going to softball practice. he said the physicall activity was good, but it felt like he was just going through the actions. The joy he had felt was mis...

The sucky part of life

Image
NOTE: DON"T READ THIS IF YOU DON'T WANT TO. IT IS OKAY, I WROTE IT FOR ME AND ANYONE WHO WANTS TO KNOW. Monday morning, I couldn't feel the baby moving, so as soon as testing was over I called my Dr. and leaving brad at work I drove over there. I got there they hooked me up to a monioter. The baby had a heart beat of 139 but was not moving, so they gave me an ultra sound still 139 heart beat, but they could not get her to move. Brad got there, wtih hsi parents who gave him a ride, about hte tiem I got out of hte ultrasound. THe Dr. said, " we are worried that she is not moving so we are going to send you next store for monitoring and an IV to rehydrate you just in case that is it, but she has a heart beat so we aren't too worried." I got to the hostpital, and they went to look for a heart beat and it had dropped to 35, less than an minute later it was gone. By the time they could have preped me for surgery and gotten me back there it woul dhave been gone fo...

Rough weekend.

Image
No, not really dealling with stress this weekend. I am sick I was at school friday giving CATS testing, when I felt weak, overheated, nausios and like I might pass out. SO as soon as I was done with testing, I took my kids back to thier room, turned in my test and went to see the nurse. (lucky me, my school nurse use to work for my ob/gyn. She left that for the less stressful job that let her be home with her kids, but she is good with working with pregant women). She had me lay down and gave me some orange juice, said she thinks I jsut got over heated.. but when she took my blood pressure it was up to 130/90 which for me is high. So she had me lay down for a while, and suggested I go home and put might feet up. Ihad to wait until brad was done with his testing over at the middle school, since we ride togehter. I called the school and told the secretary to have him call me when he was done. Which he did all worred. By then the nurse retested my blood pressure and it had dropped back do...
Okay I am going to attempt to explain the feeling of overwhelming stress that is on Brad and I right now without sounding like our whole lives are misrable, which they aren't. so I will break it into categories Stresses, and Blessings and see how it goes. Health Blessing- The baby and I are in perfect health. blood pressure is good, everything is right on track. I only have 8 weeks left til my due date. Brad is getting the medicences he needs because we have health insurance. Stresses- Brad's allergies are at their worse this time of year, meaning that he can't breath well has to supplement his regular meds with extra allergy meds and feels drained a good bit of the time. I am growing everyday which means water weight, swelling and the inability to move well (and my feet hurt). Brad has also gained some weight with me and feels stressed about that, but it is hard to diet when your other half can't. Work Blessings- we both have jobs for this year, that provide us with he...

Finishing out the week

Friday- I stayed home. It was my last chance to rest before testing began, and my feet had been really sore from all the walking during porfolio time. SO I stayed home and slept, and did laundry, and dishes, and cleaned, and read. It was a nice relaxing day. Then brad came home and we had dinner. then we went to the first softball game of the season.. don't worry I didn't play. I tossed the ball around al ittle while everyone was warming up, but no bats, or hard flying balls for me.. and lets face it right now I waddle not run. Brad is the coach and that scares him. He let himself be the guy that didn't play the first half of hte game. In true Frist baptist Co-ed style we didn't have enough girls, and Brittany's mom had to play. We lost it was bad.. but everyone made it ot base at least once, and the new girls all did pretty well.. (although brit screaming and dodging hte ball thrown to her late in the game was pretty funny. but she recovered and did really w...

Dr. Appointment

Image
Okay, after helping finish up 4th grade writing portfolios yesterday, I picked up brad and we went to another Dr. Appointment. We got an ultrasound.. pictures to follow. It appears that my placenta (some scientific name i can't remmeber) has nicely moved itself out of hte way. They were a little worried after an early ultrasound cause it was in teh way for the baby to come out. but it has moved. My blood pressure is still 120/76 so no worries there. The heart beat was great. and the Dr. spent maybe five minutes in teh room with us.. saying.. looks good. So that is a good report. Oh and I had her check the baby is still a girl. so I am not as worried about that anymore. I would not move my hand so they could get a good picture. See my foot right up agaisnt mommy's organs.. yep that is me kicking. There is my other foot being good And my little profile, although I still wouldn't move that hand. After the appointment we went to a consignment shop and bought me a really ni...
Wed- ended well. we did nothing but relax all day. Thrusday- Friday- went to lexingotn, regiestered at Baby's R' us which was fun (for me.. not so much for brad) then we had lunch got brad's allergy shot and enjoyed life. came home and worked on school work and hung out. Saturady- house work all day. you know clean all that fun stuff that we should have done all week but didn't do. Sunday- SS, church, lunch at the mexican place, then home for brad to finish as much of his presentation as possible, a very nice nap. Monday- school started up. Blitz (which meant brad was teaching on own) went okay. I had a great day back but then my job is pretty good anyway. Oh and the mad dash to finish 4th grade portfolio's has set in. If we get a free minute that is what we are supposed to work on. Got food, went home and slept til "New amsterdam" came on then went back to sleep. Brad stayed up until about 3 and then got up at 5 for school ( and woke me three times to ask...

Okay.. yeah we got the crib put up. Tuesday- AFter getting back from Grandma's late teh night before, we got up and went to the dentist. My teeth look great. Brad has two cavities. I guess I am just blessed. THen we went grocery shopping, and then in the evening had our last volleyball game. We lost, but we tried really hard. It was tough. we just didn't have the team that could win, pat was gone, and I was even slower thisweek than last. I have posted some pictures so that you can see I really did play. Wed.- Not over yet, but we got up and after some breakfast, brad helped me put the crib to gether. it is as cute as I thought it would be. I am so excited. I took several pictures so that everyone could see. The little Teddy bear which was given to us by his mom is named Keightly after the UK equipment manager Billy Kightly whi worked for the team for 48 years. During the last few years he slept through some of the games, but he was alwasy at the end of the bench. He p...
