Hope's Birthday

Well happy birthday.. Today is hope's brithday. It is hard to belive that it has been a whole year. sometimes it feels longer and sometimes it still feels like a fresh wound. I am going to do my best not to spend the whole day crying, but you know how emotional I am, and add to that being pregnant again and I doubt I will make the whole day without a couple of tears. I took today off from school casue I ddin't think I could face the little rugrats in my class today, or people asking me how I was doing. I feel like besides being a bit off this week, I a am mostly doing okay. I still feel greif but most of the time it doesn't permeate my whole life. the question, is this yoru first Child? still gives me some trouble, and we got a catalog for 1st brithday supplies in the mail on Saturday that didn't help. Brad is holding up real well, and he couldn't take the day cause he doesn't really have any left. but he is trying so hard to be strong for me. It is alri...

emotional roller coaster

This week marks the week we lost Hope and Satruday I went to the maternety fair at Central baptist. I did really well I didn't get upset or anything, but I think it affected me more than I cared to admit. One I was exhaused from being on my feet all morning, then Saturday night I came home and went to bed and was kind of moody. Sunday I woke up and was moody all day. I snapped at brad over Softball, didn't really want to say much in sunday school, had to get a ride cause I was so up and down brad was worried about me driving, then I cried at hte to be coffee, and just came home and went back to bed. then I had a complete panic attack later that night. (which I have never had one.. no fun.) brad helped me calm down and was very patient with me. We talked about what was upsetting me and I think the pressure of last week, combined with teh fair, the exhaustion, the emotional level of coffee's, the date approaching, and the fact that I am a hormanal mess jsut threw me int...

Made it

Okay- Baby update = 29 weeks, still kicking lots. Making it very hard to sleep casue she has gotten so big and so far so good. keep praying. Last week- We made it through 3 different PDs, Brad's filling, a double Dr. appointment, and two softball games. Thanks to the help of alot of friends and Family. Materinty fair= Lots of fun. got to see cool things nad hear about some stuff you forget to ask and they tell you. Got another one to go to on the 9th, and was exauhsted from all the walking. Next week- not as busy as this past week, nothing on monday after school. D&D on Tuesday, nothing on Wed., Bunco on thrusday, and Softball Friday, not I don't play softball I just watch my sexy man play. So all is good. And thigns are looking up. 26 days of school left. Still don't know about a job, cause hey this is kentucky and we have to pink slip all "first eyar" teachers (which means anyone without tenure) and then make them wait until we hire them back. If I wait...

Update from the Dr.

Okay, I am doing great. Laurana is measuring at 28weeks 5 days. I am actually 28 weeks 1 day so she is a little ahead, which is really good. She is growing in the 54 %tile... so that is also really good (Hope was always about a week behind.) When they first started taking the ultra sound she must have been either waking up or bored from my lack of sugar that day cause she yawned a big yawn right at the ultrasound. It was cute. Then the looked for all the parts. she has them all, four chambers in her hearts, lungs that are growing right on schedule, kidnneys, liver, bladder, that kind of thing. They checked the umblical cord and blood is flowing like it shoudl at a good rate, and it is not wrapped around her neck. My amniotic fluid is at a good full level. and basically she looks good and healthy. She also kept kicking hte ultra sound machine. She did't like getting poked. Dr. O'Brian my high risk guy, says that starting at 32 weeks, which is a week before we lost hope, th...

I know I havent' blogged in like two weeks, but sleep is so much more important that blogging to be right now. I know I got to get my priorities back in order.. blog then sleep. Okay what is new... We got the changing table, home and set up with a little crying, screaming and throwing of tools.. but it looks great. I hope she likes it. Daddy is very proud of getting it together. The room is starting to look more and more like a baby's room. I think I have to wait until after the shower to and the scavaging of parents of little girls past to find out what I need before I buy much more. I want to see what I can get handme down first. Cause baby stuff adds up. Also this past week, brad started Softball. That went okay. There were not enough girls so look sliek they might roll in with another team or he will jsut play sometimes with the mens team. this would mean less stress and worry for him, and the possiblity of missing some weeks cause they have enough guys that if he miss...

A great spring break

Well as of today I am 26 weeks. Which is good. Little me, is kicking very strong and very often. she tends to be calm in the mornings, but about lunch time she is wild and bed time has become an argument already. Apreaently she likes basketball though cause when ever brad is watching it she kicks alot. I think it might just be the sounds. this week, Brad and I and some helpers, Andi and Jina, painted teh baby's room. It took us two days as we had two colors to do. I may be a little bias, but I think it turned out great. We also went to Baby's R us and registered and ordered the changing table that we want. It should be here in a week or two. We also organized and moved alot of kids books. They were all in the baby's room, these are books that run from baby all the way to teenagers, so we moved the slightly more advanced ones into a different place. She is just not ready for the Anne of Green gable's books yet. This week we also relaxed, watched BedTime storie...

That last week before break

Image
Have you ever noticed how stressed you can get the last week before break. You have this wonderful thing to look forward to and yet it seems like the emotions just build inside you like a balloon filled with way to much water. Monday- School, then Brad's dr. appointment we had to reschedule for last week because I was so sick. Turns out now brad has a sinus infection. Lets give him some steroids to boost his breathing and an antibiodic to get rid of the infection. (and by the way meds liek that also take you on an emotional roller coaster.) Home, I went to bed when we walked in the door. about 6:30 and slept through til morning. Mondays are just so rough. Tuesday- School, Volleyball we won, so we have another game next week. Making it both good and bad. Cool we won.. bummer another week of games. Then a large portion of the team hit Dairy Queen for our end of year icecream. way fun, and good times all around. Came home.. went right ot bed. Wednesday- my worst day at school cause of...

101.8

So this fun week, that was supposed to be one thing turned into something different. Monday- Didn't feel to well as I headed to school. got there taught for about 2 hours, then checked my temp it was up to 100.0. SO I called My MIL and she came and took me home. I had to stop and pay for the Academica team shirts. Which brad picked up after school, and they forgot ot put names on (and 2 were missing.) Brad rescheduled his DR. appointment to the next monday so he could come home and tkae care of me when school was over. by the time he got home despite cool washclothes, tylonol, rest, and a cool shower my temp was up to 101.8 which is bad. so we called. they said see what it does the next day and then call back. (as long as I felt the baby moving which I did they weren't worried at this stage.) Tuesday- temp was 98.8 when I got up. Went to school cause I had FPS. Called got the t-shirts straightened out and back before FPS. Went to that sat through that said this is crazy ...

3 in 3 days...

yes that is right, I got 3 new students in 3 days. All of them boys. Yea for me. My class took all week to settle back down. They are better at it then they use to be. Use to take them a week per student, now it is a week regardless of how many new students we get. I have tried to relax this week, and next week is going to be insane. This past week, I had to order t-shirts for my team, go to a meeting to discuss times and all that fun stuff for regionals and get letters home to parents, arrange rides and make srue they were all going to be there. Highlights were having a poweraide with Lee Dale and just relaxing and talking about babies to come. Brad took me on a date yesterday to see "race to witch mountain" a remake of an old 60's/70's film. THe remake was great. it had the Rock in it and I jsut love his sense of humor. Want to Wish a HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Tiffy this week. Congradulation to Jenn for the birth of her daughter. And GOOD LUCK to my kids for Region...

the end of a long week.

Image
Because last weekend was so full this week seemed to be a part of last. which made it feel like a really long week rather than two sepearte weeks. Monday- we had a assembly at school, where the commisoner of Education from Kentucky came to our school, and Mr. Biggers Flaunted our Academic team win infront of them with shamless abandon. Which was nice for me, cause it makes me look good. After school we went to nicolasville to get our oil changed and then got brad's allergy shot. so it was a full day and we didn't get home til late. Tuesday- School as normal, then brad had a volleyball game (they lost but not because they didn't give it their all.) infact brad injured himself again. Then I went home and watched american Idol, and Biggest loser ( which with DVR can be fastforwarded to keep it 50 mins instead of 2 hrs. Which I see no reason why it should be 2 hours when they can get it all in 50 mins.) Wed. School. THen we were sitting in our Bible study at church (6:45) when ...

A wild week or so

Okay. The last time i posted was right after my Dr. appointment. The big news I thought I should mention is that My wonderful academic team kids, pulled it together and beat out the other two schools to win districts yesterday. This is a very big deal as the last time my elem school won districts was in 1992. So I look at this as a step towards job securtity. If you bring home trophies to your school your principal will like you more. (at least that is what I am hoping). Today is sunday and were are home enjoying our sabath as it ahs been a wild, long week. On Monday both brad and I were home sick. He had Diarrea and I had been up coughing so hard all night that I had about 1 hour of sleep. SO I stayed home took some meds and got some sleep. Tuesday after school I had to take my FPS team (future probelm solving team) to the other school to compete in that. It takes and hour and half so we were there for a long while. And there is nothing I can do to help them. THey get the pa...

All Is well

So we had our Dr. Appointments yesterday. The first one with Dr. O'brian the Paranatel diagnostic Guy had an Ultrasound. all the parts were there, the baby was growing at a normal rate, and every thing looked great. THey comfirmed it is a girl. So now we can go out and buy all that cute pink stuff we have been eying. We are going to wait to register until Spring break, so that we have time to wander around the Store and pick out what we want and need. Then I went to see Dr. Parrott. He also said that things loook great. My Blood work came back good and it looks like they will just keep monitoring me very closely. I am also now taking one baby asprin a day to increase blood flow to the placenta, just in case. In other news it has been a long couple of weeks and there are about three more weeks of long coming. Last week was hte 100th day of school, Valentines day parties. Kids were of course excited. Then we had our SS Vday party which was way fun. but left me whipped. This ...

One very wild week

I will start with our trip to Wicked last Sunday night. We drove to Louiville, and parked at the arts center then brad suggested that we walk over to the spagetti Factory for dinner, our plan all along except no walking. So we walked. and it started to snow. and my thigh highs kept falling down so I would have to stop every few yards and pull them back up. and brad had forgotten his hat so he borrowed my fluffy girly hat and I pulled up my hood. Then we got htere and they ahd an hour wait, and our show was in an hour an a half, so we decided to walk back and find someplace. We ended up stopping at a trendy spot called Z fusion, it was the kind of place that took your coat, and was way trendy and pricy. Brad had a pasta dish iwth sausage and oysters, me I stuck with a flat iron steak. We both liked our own dishes and not the other persons, which worked out well. Then we walked back to the center just in time to find our seats for the show. Wicked was like.. wow.. cool.. and wow. We had ...

No Water, and News

Image
So the long and short of it is, that our land lord accedently shut our water off when he was trying to shut off hte neightbors, because the neighbors pipe had busted and was pouring water all over his garage. WE, and the landlord, thought our pipes had frozen, so he kept trying to use a heater on them. When this didn't work he called his guy, yes our land lord has a guy. Who came and within about a min says.."looks like he turned it off by accedent, fixed it and was on his way. This was at 7:00 at night when we hadn't had water since 7:00am. so needless to say that was not a fun sunday. However, UK won against georgia, go us. And ... looks like, unless our Ultrasound tech is very wrong, that we are having a girl. Yeah for us. THe ultrasound went well. THey said that everything looks great. She looks healthy and is growing right on schedule. I have to go back in a month and they took about a quart of blood, which made be very woozy, but htey are going to run the, "if i...
Okay for those of you trying to keep track, I finished week 15 of my pregnancy today. That means I am feeling much better. I am not as tired, thoug still tired. I am not throwing up much at all, only everyonce in a while. I am also starting to feel a little more firm in the belly showing htat the uteris is growing and moving out of my pelvis and into my abdnomen. So far I am still -3 lbs from where I was when started this whole pregnancy, which the dr. says is good. I go in Tuesday for an ultrasound and they will try and figure out if it is a girl or a boy. This week of school was much fun. We had 0 degree wind chill on Thrusday and made our kids wait for the buss in that, as well as the snow and slippery roads. Then on friday when it hit -15 degree windchills, they canceled the night before. So with MLK day we got a four day weekend, which was really nice. Friday we were able to pay bills run errands and do all the things that we try to do during the week and jsut never se...

First week back

the first week back was fun. The kids were kind of wild but they started to settle as week went on. I only got one new student and primary is at cap now so I shouldn't be able to get a new one unless I lose one. As for me, I was exhausted all week, and continued to throw up ever morning. However, satruday and sunday were sickness free so that is great. All this week in the evening, I came home ate, sat at my computer for a little while then went to bed, watch TV and slept. I did not do alot, I just found it hard to find the energy. According to my Pregnancy stuff, I should start feeling better this week, which should help, i should have to sleep quite as much. Satruday- We lounged most of hte day, did a little grocery shopping. However our Pastor preached Sunday about taking a Sabbith even if it isn't Sunday. (work six days rest and reflect one.) and we have decided that for now our sabnith shall be Satruday. Sundays are too busy. So satruday we rested, reflected and onl...

We shall call it the Dark Year

Okay the whole year wasn't dark, but much like hte Dark Ages, the downs seemed to out weight the ups and there for this year turned into what we at the gullett house are going to call the dark year. This leaves 2009 to be the Renessance year, the year of re-birth and renewal. Okay Ups and Downs Ups: I got a teaching job, we had a great vacation to the Bahamas, Nanny new parts for her heart, David got a new kidney, We got to participate in Volleyball and softball, new firends, Great new apartment, Got to see alot of my parents, James got married, Hayden was born this year, got pregnant again. Kings island, Melissa's visit, Homecoming, being layed up from surgery let me read alot. :) downs: loss of hope, the surgery and healing from that, grief, depression, loss of spring job, the general messing me over by my last boss, Brad's injury that had him in a wheel chair for our vacation, Nanny being down because of surgery, David being MIA cause of surgery, a loss of interest in t...

eight lbs

I know that you are suppose to gain an average of 8 lbs between Thanksgiving and christmas. (okay not suppose to but hte avereage amereican does). Between the stomach Flu, teh Cold with sinus infecton, and the fact that I am preganant and have a small ga'ould like parisiste sucking calories from me. I have in fact lost 8 lbs in the last two months. This is very weird. It is like going backward. The Dr. didn't seem worried at my last appointment that I lost weight, he was more worried about my never ending cold. (okay I have had it like a week and they can last 7 to 14 days) but It feels like I have had it forever. Brad is also sick, so we have been held up in our apartment like TB patients. James did visit with his wife Jasmine (whole other story) Which was okay. James hasn't changed much by being married. He is still completely sweet most of the time (though I am sure he makes stuff up) then all of a sudden he will just flip and lecture us all on howmean we are to...

The perfect thing for break.

Okay this blog was going to be about how horrible it was to be sick on break, Which it is. But on further reflection I realized that this makes it so that I can just lay around and rest and not have to stress about getting up every monring and go to school feeling like this. SO in the long wrong, being sick on break is no fun, but being sick and working is worse. yeah for that blessing. I did get to hear the baby's heart beat on Tuesday. that was a relief, and the dr. said I could take Tylonal Cold and Cough syrup, which has been a life saver as the robutussin was not helping me at all and I wasn't sleeping. Brad's grandmother gave us some baskets for the nursery and for the frist time since I got pregnant this time, brad and I are both a little excited about gettig that ready for our new little one. We go in for a paranatal oppointment with a specialist who will look for things a regular Obgy won't and we get an early ultrasound from them, so we might find out ht...

Oops

So Brad and I went to Lexington yesterday to visit DAvid in the Hospital. We drove over there, parked the car in the new parking garage.. then I locked our keys in the car. THat is right, set them on the seat so I could get my coat on and locked htem right in. I could see them, but there was no way to get to them. So we went to ask security if htey could get us in, cause all girls know that if you lock yourself out at a mall the mall security can usually get up back in. Well Hospital security is not as savy. they gave us in stead a number for a guy that wanted to charge 45 $ to drive acriss the street and open our door. when we declined security offered a "coat hanger". since we didn't want to tear up our car, we went up stairs to tthink abou ti some more... I cried. THen I remembered that I have roadside assistance on my Cell Phone.. brad started paying for it after my whole ordeal on teh side of hte road with the snow, and the sprained ankle. SO we call them, an...
